A Desnutrição Afeta o Paciente com Covid-19 em Unidade de Terapia Intensiva

Abstract

Resumo: Constatou-se que as formas mais graves do COVID-19, observadas na Unidade de Terapia Intensiva (UTI), são frequentemente em idosos e pessoas com comorbidades, portanto, apresentam maior risco de desnutrição e sarcopenia, e ainda, prejudica o sistema imunológico, tornando as pessoas mais vulneráveis. Este estudo tem o objetivo de comprovar, que o diagnóstico precoce e a terapia nutricional adequados, podem evitar a desnutrição. Utilizou-se a pesquisa bibliográfica sistematizada, na plataforma Pubmed, envolvendo 30 pesquisas. Concluiu-se que a terapia nutricional, segundo as diretrizes da nutrição, e alguns nutrientes estratégicos, colaboram com a melhoria do estado nutricional do paciente, cooperando com sua reabilitação e qualidade de vida.

Malnutrition Affects Patients with COVID-19 in the Intensive Care Unit

Abstract: It was found that the most severe forms of COVID-19, observed in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), are often in the elderly and people with comorbidities, therefore, they present a greater risk of malnutrition and sarcopenia, and also damage the immune system, making people more vulnerable. This study aims to prove that early diagnosis and adequate nutritional therapy can prevent malnutrition. Systematized bibliographic research was used on the Pubmed platform, involving 30 researches. It was concluded that nutritional therapy, according to nutrition guidelines, and some strategic nutrients collaborate with the improvement of the patient's nutritional status, cooperating with their rehabilitation and quality of life.
