Determinantes Sociais da Saúde: A Educação como elemento de Prevenção e Melhoria na Qualidade de Vida da População

Abstract

Resumo:

O presente estudo teve por objetivo analisar e trazer apontamentos sobre a importância do ferramental estatal denominado educação em saúde. Houve a intenção de demonstrar a ordem conceitual e o principal papel que é desempenhado por tal ferramenta, atingindo profissionais, gestores e a sociedade em geral, no intento de reduzir as iniquidades sociais através de uma mudança individual e coletiva. Por intermédio de políticas públicas específicas o gestor em geral deve introduzir em todas as esferas e níveis, métodos com a capacidade de atingir as iniquidades presentes nas determinantes sociais da saúde, as quais acabam por serem as maiores causas de enfermidades na sociedade em geral. A educação em saúde, é abordada como um elemento viável para a prevenção e para a melhoria da qualidade de vida, pois ela contribui para a autonomia e para a mudança de cultura da população.

Social Determinants of Health: Education as a Prevention Element and Improvement in the Population's Quality of Life

Abstract:

The present study aimed to analyze and bring notes on the importance of the state tool called health education. There was the intention to demonstrate the conceptual order and the main role that is played by such a tool, reaching professionals, managers and society in general, in an attempt to reduce social inequities through individual and collective change. Through specific public policies, the manager in general must introduce, in all spheres and levels, methods with the ability to reach the inequities present in the social determinants of health, which end up being the biggest causes of illness in society in general. Health education is approached as a viable element for prevention and for improving the quality of life, as it contributes to the population's autonomy and culture change.
