Aplicação no Brasil do modelo de Tomada de Decisão Participativa do Paciente na Escolha da Melhor Terapia

Abstract

Resumo:

O objetivo geral do presente artigo é discutir a viabilidade de incluir ou não o paciente na escolha dos tratamentos e procedimentos médicos a serem realizados. Apresenta o modelo de Tomada de Decisão Participativa utilizando-se como analogia a utilização feita em organizações empresariais, indicando os pontos fortes e fracos e analisa, como objetivo específico, a viabilidade da aplicação deste modelo no Brasil. Para tanto, foi realizada pesquisa bibliográfica exploratória e utilizado o método hipotético-dedutivo a fim de responder a seguinte pergunta: Seria possível e benéfica a adoção no Brasil do modelo de Tomada de Decisão Participativa do paciente na escolha da melhor terapia. Ao final foi do trabalho, foi respondida a pergunta suscitada com resposta positiva, mas com ressalvas.

Patient Participatory Decision Making Model in Choosing the Best Therapy in Brazil

Abstract:

The main objective of this article is to discuss the feasibility of including or not the patient in the Decision Making of treatments and medical procedures to be performed. It presents the Participatory Decision Making model using as an analogy the use made in business organizations, indicating the strengths and weaknesses and analyzes, as a specific objective, the feasibility of applying this model in Brazil. Therefore, an exploratory bibliographic research was carried out and the hypothetical-deductive method was used in order to answer the following question: It would be possible and beneficial to adopt in Brazil the model of Patient Participatory Decision Making Model in Choosing the Best Therapy. At the end of the work, the question raised was answered with a positive answer, but with reservations. Keywords: Participatory Decision Making; Best Terapy; Patient's Right; Medical Law.
